 Learning to Recognize Animal Tracks
  Who's Been in My Backyard ?

February Tracking Program for CLCT
Would you like to learn how to recognize animal tracks in the woods?

For Children in Grades 1 – 5

Learn to read animal tracks and other clues to solve the animal mysteries that happen in your own backyard!
 
A FREE February Vacation Activity will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at the
Indian River Recreation Complex on Route 81.  It is offered to children in grades 1-5.
The event will be led by Erik Becker, Former Director of Bushy Hill Nature Center
Two Sessions are scheduled:  10:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-2:30 - limited to 20 children in each Session.

Be sure to dress for the outdoors:  boots, mittens, and hat.

The Clinton Land Conservation Trust, Inc. was founded in 1967 by concerned citizens as a private, non-profit organization chartered by the State of Ct. The purpose and functions of the Trust according to its Certificate of Incorporation are:

1 ) To promote the Preservation of natural resources of the Town of Clinton, including water resources, marshland, swamps, woodlands and open spaces, and unique scenic and historic sites.

2 ) To promote the study of local natural resources and to inform and educate the general public with respect thereto.

3 ) To acquire property by gift, purchase, or otherwise, and to hold and use it to carry out the above-stated purposes.

The CLCT sponsored the purchase of a child-sized backpack for the Clinton Library’s Get Outdoors program. The backpack contains 2 nature cargo vests, 2 magnifying glasses, compact, waterproof binoculars, a waterproof military compass, a hand crank solar powered flashlight, 3 folding pocket guides about Connecticut wildlife, trees, and birds, a guide book to Connecticut State Parks, and laminated trail maps to local Clinton Land Conservation hiking trails.
