Again this year the CLCT will be participating in the International Coastal Cleanup which is part of Save the Sound. We will be cleaning up the Clinton Town Beach on Sat. Sept 17th from 9-12. To participate, just park in the town beach parking lot and come on over to the shade pavillion to sign up. We will provide all the necessary equipment. We will also be serving lunch around noon for our helpers. Contact person: Sally Heffernan - 860-669-5276 or email Sallysdirt@yahoo.com.

Greetings,
We have not had a workday in a while - it seems that it has been a very busy summer with few free Saturdays.
This month, instead of having our regular workday, the CLCT will be joining other groups for the annual Beach Cleanup Day. The Beach Clean-up is scheduled for Sat. Sept 17th from 9-12 and food will be served at 12. It would be great if people would let us know if they will be staying for lunch so we can plan food. There will probably be a lot of stuff to clean up after the storms.
If anyone would like to volunteer to help out a little early getting set up on Sat. that would be a big help or if anyone would like to bring a salad or side dish that would be a big help as well. Please just let us know.
On another note, I will no longer be running the monthly workday events. This is a program that we have been doing for a number of years and has been very successful in getting projects completed by the CLCT on our various properties. I will still be a memeber of the CLCT Board and will also be working at the monthly workdays from time to time.
Gregg Mirando, a fellow board member, will be taking over this task. If you have ever been to a workday, you have probably met Gregg. He has been a willing volunteer for a number of years and is always there to lend a helping hand even if it means taking some time off from work to be at Husky Helper Day or some other project.
Thanks to all of the volunteers who have given their time so generously on those sometimes rainy, sometimes clear, sometimes hot and sometimes cold Saturday mornings. The CLCT is a completely volunteer organization and we could not be successful without the help of folks like you.
Hope to see you at a worday in the future.
